We are excited to be hosting a Seed Savers special session at our public meeting on Thursday September 25 from 7:15pm at Narrabeen Tramshed Arts and Community Centre at 1395 Pittwater Rd Narrabeen  . We will also be forming a PNB seed savers project team to carry this knowledge forward in the group and on the Northern Beaches.

Our guest speakers will be educationalists and permaculturists Michele Margolis and Jane Mowbray of Seed Savers in the Inner West of Sydney. They will speak on both the importance of and their own experiences of seed saving including why it is important to save seed close to where we live. They will demonstrate simple techniques for saving wet and dry seeds, and explain why locally adapted, non-hybrid seeds are so important for food security.  They will let you know what plants have had great success; what are easy and quick to grow; and ideas on how to plant your seeds and keep them healthy. Locally saved, organic seeds will be available on the night from their seed library @ $1 per packet, as well as informative books.

Members free guests entry by donation.
