War on kitchen waste on many fronts! Here’s 2 ways…

Bernadette from Willoughby Local Group (WLG) participated in one of the fabulous Living Skills training organised by Margaret earlier this year. She is now sharing what she learned for the PSN wide Local Group meeting on Sunday August 27. Below is a short description of her show and tell and what you need to bring:

“Eco enzyme is a complex solution produced by fermentation of fresh kitchen waste (fruit and veg), sugar and water. It is dark brown and has a sweet sour fermented scent.

It is a multipurpose liquid with household, agricultural and animal husbandry applications. Uses include household cleaner, garden fertiliser and natural insecticide.

We will make some Eco enzyme on the day and I will harvest some which has been fermenting for 3 months, so you get to take some home to try while yours is fermenting.

And there’s more… I will do a demo on transforming kitchen waste into something edible. Going to throw out the broccoli leaves or carrot tops or put these into compost, well another option is to make a dish with these. Sorry worms! Stop salivating!

I am still working through which kitchen waste I will use to make an edible something. Come and be surprised!!

I will host this activity as it is time .... Numbers limited so please register

Date: Sunday August 27

Time 2 to 4pm
