Sustain Expo

Your natural & organic lifestyle show. @ The Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park this weekend.

After providing a very successful and much loved kitchen garden display at the Organics Expo and Green Show in 2011, PSN has been invited to design the set for the Gardening Workshops space at Sustain in 2012.

This year we've been allocated 5x the space we had last year, so we've got a whopping 120 square meters to play with!

Costa, Indira Naidoo, our very own Selena Griffith and Monique Unger and a host of other people will be speaking in the space that we've co-desiged and  will be co-assembling with Steve Bately from Sydney Organic Gardens.

We're going to have chooks in the fabulous PSN chook / glass propagation house (Bill Mollison design / Peter Wright construction); The infamous PSN balcony garden (Philip Evans / Richard Brasil construction); we've got a bee hive and some equipment kindly on loan from Doug at Urban Bee Hives; Steve from Edible Kids Gardens is constructing a mobile terraced raised bed with trellis / espalier backing, we'll have a rabbit tractor, quails, a TV aquaponics set, an area for the kids to plant some seeds in used coffee cups... it's going to be fantastic!

Plus we'll be raffling off a 3 hour tapas class and dining experience for two (valued at $280) at Mumu's Grill - Sydney's only sustainable steakhouse.

Tickets to the expo are $18 ($15 if booked online), but you can get free entry (and discounted parking) in return for volunteering at the PSN stall / display for at least a 1/2 day shift.

Bump in: Thurs 19th Jul (7am - 6pm)

Open to public day Sun 22nd Jul (9:45am - 6:15pm)

Bump out: Sun 22nd Jul (6pm - 9pm)

Bump in and bump out involve setting up/deconstructing the display. Carrying / wheeling things out and loading them into utes.

Fri / Sat / Sun involves talking to people about Permaculture, sustainability, waste avoidance, promoting PSN (we'll have brochures and info there), and generally being helpful to anyone who's interested.

If you want to get involved and help out too, please get in touch with Monique at president@permaculturenorth.org.au AND put your name / contact details against the shift(s) you can help out with on the roster by clicking here. There aren't that many spaces left...

PS. we particularly need people for Friday and to help out with bump out on Sunday evening.

Hope to see you there.
