     Hornsby November meeting
Fagan Park Eco Garden
3rd November

                        Hornsby group meet-up for November:

Please note: this is one week earlier than usual - Sunday 3 November.  Come and join us at the lovely EcoGarden, in Fagan Park, Arcadia Road, Galston.  This is something of a hidden treasure and we would love to show it to you.

  • For those who can come a bit earlier, we will meet at 1pm for a shared lunch.  Weather permitting, the council Waste Education team will fire up the cob oven for us!
  • There will also be a brief tour of the EcoGarden.
  • The main event of the day, from 2pm, is a mini-permabee.  We are helping out by creating a citrus tree espalier in front of a rainwater tank with attendant companion plants, that Hornsby members have chosen (and the Waste Education team will have bought) beforehand.  We need to engineer (or find) some sort of structure on which to espalier the citrus tree/s so if you can help with that, let us know!  There will be plenty of jobs for all: digging, planning, weeding, planting, watering, mulching... looking, eating... planting some seedlings... taking photos...
  • bring: a couple of hand tools (which ones? depends on what you want to do!), hat, closed shoes, sunblock and water.  Enthusiasm, camera, and a smile!  Lunch to share.  There are toilets on site.

So join us on this hands-on learning experience, and help out the EcoGarden at the same time!

Please contact Lucinda if you are coming - by next Wed 30th if possible - so that we can plan for lunch and to ensure we have the right number of tasks for the numbers coming!  Email is best:

NOTE Fagan Park has a $5 parking fee for the carpark and you need the exact money for the entry parking machine else there is road side parking

December meet-up:

Our end-of-year celebrations!  Date: Sunday 8th December.  Venue and details to be advised, but we will meet a little earlier, share a lovely festive lunch, possibly do an easy activity, and definitely have lots of fun!

So put these dates in your diary and contact Lucinda re Sunday 3rd November

it will prove to be a very educational ad fun afternoon
