G'day PSN,
At Permaculture Northern Beaches, on Thursday January 23rd, we are excited to have guest speaker Peter Clarke presenting more insight into Tetragonula Carbonaria, the 'sugarbag' bee. It will involve what he has done for the species of bee since launching his programs and displacing up to 350 hives over 8 years. He will be discussing all things bee related and what Permaculture Northern Beaches is trying to vision for future beehive multiplication, pollination and existence through our own program. He teaches and facilitates in two important areas of expertise.

NATIVE STINGLESS BEES: Peter, in conjunction with major support from Ku-ring-gai Council, has set-up over 350 hives on Ku-ring-gai properties. He and Ku-ring-gai Council are generously donating a number of hives to PNB so we can continue his excellent work in our area. These amazing little creatures offer many advantages to the environment and gardeners/Permaculture practitioners.

POOL TO POND INITIATIVE:  This is where people convert their unwanted swimming pools into ponds or ‘billabongs’ with many environmental, productive and aesthetic advantages. This includes the possibility of raising native fish species such as Perch for harvest.

Peter has been interviewed on both initiatives by Costa on Gardening Australia. He is an excellent presenter; very clear, relevant, enthusiastic and engaging.

Please feel welcome to join us on the 23rd at Narrabeen  Tramshed Arts & Community Centre, 1395 Pittwater Rd.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start.

I look forward to meeting you and engaging further about our Indigenous Stingless Bee.
