PSN Monthly Meeting February 17 - 7PM

Sustainable living in the city - in the house, the street and the garden

“If I can get all my food, water and energy from where I am then I’m sustainable.”

Michael Mobbs is the author of “Sustainable House” and “Sustainable Food” and founder of the Sustainable House in Chippendale.

He has disconnected from the mains water supply, collects and drinks his own water and processes all of the waste on-site. He also generates most of his own electricity to power his city home.

Each year the Sustainable House:

  • saves over 100,000 litres of town water,
  • produces over 100,000 litres of clean water,
  • prevents 100,000 litres of sewerage from entering the ocean,
  • saves several tons of waste from going to the tip,
  • prevents over 100,000 litres of stormwater entering the ocean,
  • avoids burning 4 tons of coal for energy
  • generates over a $1,000 of clean energy.

Come and hear about his 14 years living in the Sustainable House and the many valuable lessons he has to share.

Check out how Mike has been helping Waverley Council. The Bondi Gobbler
