Monthly get-together Sunday 18th May
 at 10 am in Bilpin

Our next get-together will be to do something quite different and interesting.

On Sunday 18th May, 10:00 (for a 10:30 start) I would like to invite you to a visit to Bilpin Springs Orchard to pick apples.

You can lookup Bilpin Springs Orchard -   http://www.bilpinspringsorchard.com.au

The orchard provides baskets that can hold approximately 10kg, but you are welcome to use your own bags. Fruit is charged per kilogram at the prices marked on the board at the entrance. A minimum purchase of $5 per adult is assumed. Local pure apple juice and matured local apple cider vinegar are stocked, and sometimes honey from bees housed in the orchard.

Check this blogpost for info on natural growing methods: http://www.bilpinspringsorchard.com.au/2014/02/01/natural-soil-fumigation/

We have planned to have a picnic lunch after picking apples. Bring a picnic lunch, water, a rug, rain gear ( gum boots, and jacket ) just in case, and a bag to bring home goodies. A picnic site has been booked for the day, under a big apple tree.

Let me know if you are interested in going and I can arrange for car pooling. Let me know if you are willing to drive and how many passengers you can take, or if you would rather travel as a passenger.  It is estimated to take around 2 hours to get there, so it will be an early start. We should plan to leave by 8am to have an easy drive there.

This is the link for getting there:  http://www.bilpinspringsorchard.com.au/faq

Please contact me either by phone 9888 6197 or by email.

Many thanks to Janna Mizens for organising this visit

Regards,
Diana Fletcher
