LIVING SKILLS WORKSHOP - How to use a sewing machine & make a laptop bag
Ever wanted to make or mend your own clothes, or been totally in awe of someone who is wearing one of their own creations?
Well, here's a great opportunity to learn the basics on a sewing machine.
A trained dress maker will be leading the workshop and will be showing people how to follow a pattern, use a sewing machine and an over-locker. We will be sewing an padded laptop bag. People
are encouraged to bring their own sewing machines but there will also be 2 sewing machines on hand.
If anyone has started a project at home and needs a bit of advice or a helping hand, feel free to bring your project, or at least your questions along.
For those who would like to make their own padded laptop bag, please bring the followings:
Materials:
Approximately 1/2 yard each of two fabrics, one for exterior and one for lining
One piece of batting, approximately 18″ by 45″
Thread
Two buttons
