Strategies for a changing economy – survive and thrive
With David Holmgren and Nicole Foss
Internationally renowned big picture thinkers, Nicole Foss and David Holmgren, deliver their latest presentation at Sydney Mechanics’ School of Art on Friday 27th June. Doors open 6pm for 7.00 pm start.
In Building Resilience in an Era of Limits to Growth, Foss explores the links between converging pressures facing us - economic contraction, peak energy and geopolitical turmoil. She outlines implications for our everyday lives and shares practical adaptations observed around the world.
In his presentation, Permaculture - Surfing the Property Bubble Collapse, Holmgren, outlines practical strategies to help households and communities survive, thrive and contribute to a better world. He draws on his 30 years teaching permaculture, designing and demonstrating rural and urban food systems and his own local Transition activism.
From here on we face many challenges as a consequence of our having hit limits of growth - in finance, energy, resources and in the environment. Many see our current path as unsustainable. Foss and Holmgren have practical strategies for adapting and transitioning to an inevitable low energy future.
Tickets for the program are $30 and $20 for concessions on line at http://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/nicole-foss-and-david-holmgren-live-in-sydney-book-now-tickets-11988003441.
