Ku-ring-gai Local group meeting – August 17th 2.30-5.30.
Fermentation Workshop - Turramurra.
Fermenting is a very old method of preserving surplus harvest. What's more, fermented foods are full of beneficial microbes which help to boost the body's immune system and relieve symptoms of some medical conditions. With winter vegetables maturing now, learn how to ferment them to make delicious sauerkraut, rotkraut and beet kvass.
With Margaret Mossakowska showing us, we will all make and take home a jar of fermented vegetables. Jill Fisher has kindly donated her kitchen for the afternoon.
Everyone will need the following: (available from Ikea & others)
Margaret has offered to buy the vegetables and salt, which will cost about $5 dollars for each person. If you prefer to bring your own home grown vegetables, let me know so I can tell Margaret.
Regrettably, we have to limit our numbers to 10 because of space and safety.
You must register because of the limit on numbers
It should be fun.
