Well the July permabee at Chris & Margaret’s was a busy one, shuffling soil and the raised garden beds in a fairly confined space, while others of us did the donkey work running a wheelbarrow relay hauling the gravel up from the drive to the wicking beds. The turnout was good, lunch was even better and the weather was more like a summers day.
All in all it was a successful day with two of the four beds completed and the third well under way. Special thanks to Jeremy Yau for putting in the extra tine to get that third one finished during the following week.

Due to circumstances beyond our controlled the August permabee will need to be cancelled.
Apologies for this but a combination of wet weather and some home renovations problems at Jenny’s has forced us to call off the permabee this month.

In September we are all off to Macquarie Uni to help Belinda Bean get a start on the mandala garden at Macquarie’s sustainability house. It will be a five bed, keyhole, no dig, crop rotation system with a movable dome for quail over one of the beds. With plenty of Uni students getting involved, its location and Belinda’s networking skills this should turn out to be a real asset in promoting permaculture into the future.
As always you will need to register on line to find out the address and let us know how many to feed.
Remember to dress for the weather and work.
Look forward to catching up then.
Peter
P.S. If anyone has lost any tools or found any, pleas let me know so we can get them back where they belong. Thanks
