Living Skills Workshop
"Preserving the Harvest"
May 16th, Coal Loader,
Waverton

Natural living means eating seasonal produce and managing abundance of seasonable fruit/vegetables by storing/preserving it for later.

You can freeze fresh fruit, herbs and some vegetables but do you know that traditional preserving techniques use less energy (and therefore have lower carbon footprint) compared to modern ways?

Come to the workshop and learn from Margaret Mossakowska how to preserve food by methods such as salting, pickling, drying, boiling with sugar or canning to keep the seasonal harvest lasting for long months.

Once you learn these skills, you will be confident to know exactly what ingredients went to each jar of preserves you prepared.

We will not only learn, but also make a pickle, so you will go home with a jarful of tasty preserve.

What to bring:  apron and kitchen gloves

Register by clicking on the "Register" button. If you have problems with registering, please email mmossakowska@yahoo.com.au
