A tour to Mudgee has been organised for the weekend of 17th and 18th October,However, the intention is to drive up on Friday afternoon 16th October . The basic itinerary is this (but is subject to change)
Saturday 17th October
8.30 am Meet at the Farmers' Market Grounds of St.Mary's Catholic Church. Crn Market and Church Streets
8.30am - 10am- visit the Fine Foods Farmers' Market
For those interested in architecture, check out the INSIDE of St.Mary's RC Church and St. John's Anglican Church in the same street.
10.15am -11..30am .Tour and tasting at Lowe's Biodynamic Winery
Saturday afternoon -
12 - 12.30pm Honey Haven (multiple honey tasting opportunities
12.45 - 2.15pm Leaning Oak Goat and Sheep Cheesery. Lunch and look. Milking till 2pm.
2.30pm - 4pm Short Sheep Winery Sustainable vineyard and micro winery with wine tasting.
Saturday evening
4.15pm - 8pm Visit to Rosemary and Barry Hadaway's developing permaculture property ( including earthworks, water harvesting and recently constructed straw bale house) for tour and casual bbq campfire dinner.
8.30pm- 10pm Mudgee Observatory 20Km from Mudgee
Sunday 18th October
9am to 12.30pm Farm Walk Tour visiting the Karrabool Olive Farm and Mudgee Micro Brewery.
12.45pm - 1.45pm Lunch at the Hi Cube Container Cafe
Sunday afternoon -
2.15pm trip 27Ks North to Home Rule to visit the property of Rick, a keen permaculturist, farming in arid country.
For members only
Registrants will organise their own transport for flexibility (car pooling if possible) and their own accommodation (to cater for individual tastes).Other costs involved will be $15 for Observatory entry fee,$10 for the Farm Walk and $10 donation for the BBQ.and $5 for gift of appreciation for Rick's property visit. Cost of meals is not included. For those who wish to visit the there is a $15 fee to be paid in cash on arrival
