Living Skills Workshop:
Herbal Extracts & Cream Making
Saturday March 18th

Come to learn how to extract active medicinal substances and fragrances from plants using maceration process and tinctures. These extracts can then be incorporated into soaps, creams, ointments, lotions, hair treatments etc which can be made at home very easily, mainly from ingredients commonly found in most households, garden herbs and using simple kitchen utensils. Some examples of plants used for their fragrance are lemon verbena, lemon grass, geranium (lemon and rose), citrus peel, rosemary.

Using one of Pat Collins recipes we will make a moisturising cream from comfrey, chamomile and calendula, setting it with beeswax melted in warm almond oil. Everyone will take home a jar of the cream.

This workshop will be conducted by Margaret Mossakowska.
