Resilient Gardens: A guide to edible & medicinal native plants for Sydney gardens with Mick Owen

Mick Owen has worked in ecological restoration in the Sydney Basin for 12 years, and is passionate about plants and ecology.

Towards the end of his time in ecological restoration, Mick completed a PDC and integrated permaculture techniques and thinking in to his work. Last year Mick completed permaculture teacher training with Milkwood and Rowe Morrow, and held his first workshop at the Blue Mountains Community Garden.

Mick has his own gardening business in the Blue Mountains and recently designed bush food gardens for the venue The Lookout, on the edge of the World Heritage Blue Mountains National Park, at Echo Point.

Mick’s presentation will provide the audience with knowledge of several local and non-local edible native plants, their medicinal properties, health benefits and how to best utilise them in your garden.

A small selection of these plants will be available for purchase on the night, ranging from $5 to $10.

Free for members, $5 for guests.

Doors open at 6:30pm - a good time to check out our members' library & catch up with other PSN members.

Please join us for supper after the talk and swap.
