Ku-ring-gai Local Group Meeting
Making beeswax wraps
Saturday, August 18 1.00 pm - 4.00 pm
It was very unfortunate that Margaret had to cancel her workshop on making beeswax wraps, but, given the war on waste now raging, and the fact that the hall was already booked, Ku-ring-gai decided that it was too important an opportunity to miss.
These very attractive wraps and covers for dishes can be used over and over and will keep your food fresh in the fridge or sandwiches fresh in school-bags and brief cases. And they are not plastic!!! Eventually they will return to the earth.
To make them we need beeswax and some cotton cloth. We will purchase the beeswax, but bring some attractive cotton material, washed at least once. I have some, but you might prefer your own pattern.
We have the hall from 2.00 to 4.00 pm, but before that there is the whole beautiful historic Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability to wander in, plus a thriving community garden.
Come at 1.00 pm we will walk around, then make some tea or coffee and start the beeswax works.
Bring something tasty to nibble on, tea and coffee provided.
