DESCRIPTION:https://permaculturenorth.org.au/event-3332958\n\nAvoiding the Glyphosate Pathway to Chronic Disease\n  Glyphosate is not the benign herbicide ingredient (in Roundup) that Monsanto (now Bauer) would have us believe\, and it continues in widespread use with limited cost-effective alternatives for weed control. We are not paying enough attention to the spectrum of adverse consequences for the natural environment and for our human health. Is this another inconvenient truth?\n  Ann Taylor will share what she continues to learn about the harmful biochemical mechanisms by which glyphosate may be contributing significantly to our burden of chronic di-sease. It impacts on our gut flora\, nutrient status\, liver function\, neurological health and vulnerability to many forms of physiological dysfunction. There is also an extensive body of research showing adverse environmental impacts on our soil\, water\, aquatic species and bees.   \n  Ann is an ex-chemical engineer\, who aspired to solve pollution problems\; past PSN member\, with her Permaculture Design Certificate from Milkwood Permaculture and continuing to live as -permaculture-as- possible at home and in community\; and present practising functional nutritionist with special interests in gut health and reducing our toxic exposures.\n  She is equally interested in learning from practising permaculturists about best options for weed control that she can share back with her community garden colleagues\, neighbours and clients\, in the best interests of all our health.\n  \n\n  Free for members\, small donation for guests. \n  Doors open at 6:30pm - a good time to check out our members' library & catch up with other PSN members. \n  Please join us for supper after the talk.\n
