Movie Night - Give a Dam: Flooding the Blue Mountains
It's movie night in June.
The NSW Government wants to raise the Warragamba Dam wall. Doing so will destroy 65 kilometres of NSW wilderness rivers in the Blue Mountains World Heritage area. When the community gets active, change is made. This documentary showcase the spectacular landscapes under treat and the people who are trying to save it.
Learn about the environmental impacts of the project, the destruction it will cause to sacred sites of the Gundungurra people and the overdevelopment it will allow on the western Sydney floodplains.
Wilson Harris, the Natural Areas Campaigner for Colong Foundation for Wilderness, will introduce the film and have a Q & A following the film.
