Getting Lay's garden ready for spring

Lay has been a long term actively PSN member, due to her recent health issues the PSN garden team would like to organise a Spring session to help her to get her precious garden ready for the spring season.  We are a community organisation and of course we like to help members who are struggling.

The gardening tasks to accomplish are :

1. Weed identification
2. Weeding garden beds around fruit trees and in vegetable beds
3. Mulching above areas: pine bark around fruit trees and sugar cane in vegetable gardens
4. Preparing garden areas for planting: digging compost, soil aeration, cultivation of soil, adding chicken manure etc.
5. Planting seedlings and other tasks if time allows.

PPE is a must:

• Gloves, secateurs, own weeding tools, hat, sturdy shoes, sunscreen protection, water.  
  

Covid safety rules must be followed:

• Wearing own mask, maintaining 1.5 physical distancing, hand washing/sanitising.
• No sharing tools but if it has to be done please sanitise tool before handing this to someone else.
