HAND SEWING
FOR
MAKING AND MENDING
Saturday 8th May at Mt Colah 2.00pm - 4.00pm
Learning how to use a needle and thread is a valuable life skill than can save you money, save your clothes and reduce your impact on the environment. Re-purpose, re-cycle, re-use....
Come and join us for a workshop run by Katerina, where you will learn practical skills, such as sewing a hem, buttons and mending clothes. You will also be shown how to visibly mend worn spots in clothing with creative stitching.
There is no machine sewing involved, only what can be done by hand.
You will learn about different hand sewn stitches, how to sew them and which technique works best for different purposes. You will be shown different needles, materials, a variety of threads and their qualities.
Bring something you wish to mend (with matching threads) and you can work on it with guidance.
Enjoy a relaxing afternoon, in a lovely permaculture garden, with good company and, most importantly, learn a very rewarding skill.
