Permie Panel: Putting Principles into Practice

You have probably read about the 12 Permaculture Principles described by permie pioneer David Holmgren (yes, the ones in your permie calendar), but do you know what they mean? How do we apply them in our gardens, homes, lives and communities?

Join us for a Permie Panel discussion where we ask some of our experienced members to share some stories of how they have applied the first three principles in their lives:

  1. Observe and Interact – “Beauty is in the mind of the beholder”
By taking the time to engage with nature we can design solutions that suit our particular situation.
  2. Catch and Store Energy – “Make hay while the sun shines”
By developing systems that collect resources when they are abundant, we can use them in times of need.
  3. Obtain a yield – “You can’t work on an empty stomach”
Ensure that you are getting truly useful rewards as part of the working you are doing.

Please be aware that due to COVID restrictions:

  • Numbers are limited and you MUST register online to attend in person.
  • We will not be serving supper, but we will serve tea and coffee. bring any snacks you need.
If you can't make it to Lindfield, we will be live-streaming the panel via Zoom!
