Peter Pez has been taking people mushroom hunting in Oberon for years.

We will meet at the Victory Cafe at 9 am sharp and travel together in convoy to Oberon to Pete's secret mushroom spot. It's 188 km from Sydney to Oberon, about 2h 45min drive.

Once there Pete will show you how to find and identify the two mushroom varieties to pick – saffron caps (Lactarius deliciosus) and slippery Jacks (Boletus portentosus).

Lunch will be provided – guess what it will be?

Please wear: warm clothes, a beanie, and walking shoes.

Please bring: a small sharp knife, a basket (plastic bags are no good as mushrooms sweat), a plate and fork, a drinking vessel, and your favourite drink – tea, coffee, red wine...

Bring a folding chair if you have one – Pete will provide a table.
