Ku-ring-gai  Local Group - Event for Everyone

Sunday June 13th  2021

Adventures in Cooking Phase 2

Last meeting we  enjoyed foods typically cooked  in different countries and cultures.  This time is a bit more challenging because we will all  bring food cooked with at least some aboriginal food materials or flavours.  This will probably require some research by all of us.  Those of you who will have been on Jake Cassar’s excursion will have a head start here.

The Harvest Seeds and Native Plants nursery in Terry Hills has quite a good range of plants that were used by the First Nations people, and when I was there, there was a lady who knew quite a lot about it.

There will be no presenter - just everybody sharing what they know or have found out and made or invented.

So register if you are interested in participating.

And on the subject of harvesting the last time I went picking mushrooms with Peter Pez it was fantastic because Peter cooked mushrooms right there in the forest (and there was some wine flowing as well for those who wished) It was quite surreal and good fun. It's on again on this Saturday 1st May and there are still places left.
