BEGINNER HAND SEWING

                   Saturday April 23 at Mt Colah  2.00pm - 4.00pm

Learning how to use a needle and thread is a valuable life skill than can save you money, save your clothes and reduce your impact on the environment.Re-pair, re-use, re-cycle, re-purpose...

In this workshop for beginners, Katerina will teach you a variety of practical sewing stitches which will be useful in your journey of mending clothes, sewing a hem and buttons.

You will learn about different hand sewn stitches as shown in the sampler above, how to sew them and which technique works best for different purposes. You will be shown different needles, materials, a variety of threads and their qualities.

The stitches you learn can be used in the "visible mending" of your clothing.

You will be given a basic "sewing kit" put together by Katerina using recycled spectacle cases and boxes to start you on your own rewarding journey.

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon, in a lovely permaculture garden, with good company and, most importantly, learn a very rewarding skill.

The basic regulation of being double vaccinated applies.
