Guided Mushroom Picking Tour - Stuart McKellar
Autumn has arrived and that means it's time to go mushroom picking!
This is our third year now that we, Permaculture Sydney North, head off to Oberon to pick Saffron Caps and Slippery Jacks, and then cook up our mushrooms for lunch.
Stuart havs been studying and picking mushrooms for several years and these ones are easily identified. They are also recommended from the state forests. Stuart is a bio-molecular science student, particulary interested in genetics. Mycology is one of his serious passions.
If you can't make it to this trip, perhaps our second trip, scheduled for the 12th May will suit you better.
We meet at Blackheath at 9am at Govetts Leap Rd, by the cafe that looks like an old cinema attached to the car park around the corner from the pub.
WHAT TO BRING
Small knife, fork, water, drinks (wine if you wish), and something to put the mushies in (e.g bucket, basket or green shopping bags). Be warned that we do pick a lot so don’t bring something too small.
Please wear good shoes and warm clothes
