Goat Milk Soap

Saturday August 20,  2.00pm to 4.00pm

Wahroonga

Here is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to make all-natural handmade soap with no chemicals or preservatives.

GOAT MILK SOAP is naturally high in saturated and unsaturated fat and creates a soap that is creamy, gentle, and nourishing. We will be using a base of olive and coconut oils and include other ingredients and lye, with goat milk for a beautiful, smooth, luxurious texture. You will also learn the technique of mixing herb infusions in your soap and adding different oils that you might have available in your house. You will learn about 'saponification' and 'lyeless' soap.

We will also make SHAMPOO BARS which are plastic package free. They help to reduce the industry’s problem with over-packaging so they are much better for the environment. The bars are more concentrated than traditional liquid shampoos, so you can use less per application and they will last longer.

There is a curing time of 4-6 weeks before the soap you make is ready for use. You will take home a sample of the soap and the shampoo bar and notes to remind you of the quantities you have used.

As we will work with strong lye and hot oil, for safety reasons the workshop is limited to 10 participants. Please do not bring children to the workshop.

All attendees must be fully vaccinated.
