Join us on Monday night at Lindfield Hall or via Zoom for our 'new look' monthly gatherings, where we get to know each other better by sharing more news, stories, and ideas!
This month's special feature is a 17 minute short but powerful film: Regenerating Australia, directed by Damon Gameau who made the inspiring film 2040.
Regenerating Australia is a new story for our nation: a story of empowerment. A story of solutions. A story of regeneration.
Set on New Year's Eve of December 2029, a news anchor is ending the nightly bulletin with a look back at the decade 'that could be’. A decade that saw Australia transition to a fairer, cleaner, more community focused economy. The film features hypothetical news reports and press conferences, but features real journalists, politicians, business leaders and citizens – Kerry O’Brien, Sandra Sully, Tim Flannery, Larissa Behrendt, David Pocock and other well-known voices.
The visual effects team has brought to life the greener, more vibrant cities and communities that our interviewees are asking for. We see what a high-speed rail net work connecting regional areas and cities would look like and what large-scale wind, solar, battery and hydrogen projects would do for hundreds of thousands of employees. We see the impacts of landscapes coming to life when regenerative agriculture and reforestation programs combine with Indigenous knowledge and fire ecology to bring more people back onto the land.
After the film we'll discuss the film and our own vision for PSN in 2030 – what will we be doing? What will we have achieved?
Fully vaccinated members are welcome to join us in person at Lindfield Hall, or you can dial in on Zoom.
Please register if you are attending in person.
We will serve tea and coffee in the hall after the film and have an everything swap for all your excess useful stuff that will help reduce waste – plants, crops, preserves, clothing, books, etc. Please remember: Anything you bring that is not swapped/taken must go back home with you!
