Our March Permabee blitz, 18th March 9.30 to 3.30, is for Wendy,Waste Re-distributor par execellence and Willoughby Local Group Co-ordinator. It will take place at her parents' property which she visits to maintain. once a week.
The aim is to make an aesthetically pleasing more water wise and low maintenance garden for annual and perennial vegetables, fruit and herbs, at the same time allowing these to be potentially transportable. There will be some transplanting, sowing of seeds, pruning and general maintenance- including reconnection of irrigation tubing, but our main work /fun will be assembling Vegepods, making wicking pots and securing lattice out of found verge objects.
There is a small shed which needs to be tidied up and an a store of miscellaneous mesh which will present opportunities for excess items to be redistributed to participants. There is plenty of licorice herb and other plants such as false cardamom to take home too. Just bring appropriate wrapping material so you can get them home in good condition..
Here we see the three permaculture ethics in action - Care for the Earth, Care for people and Share the Surplus!!
Come for the day or a couple of hours. It's always lots of fun and a great learning opportunity.
Just remember to bring gloves, hat and water bottle and wear closed in shoes. Something for to share for afternoon tea would be nice too. Lunch will be provided.
Address will be supplied on Registration. Participants are responsible for their own Covid protection measures.
