Learn how you can brew your own apple cider at home. For those who gathered apples in Bilpin, this is a perfect opportunity to turn them into a delicious beverage with help from Chris Severn, an experienced brewer. Or if you prefer not to have the alcohol, you can take home some freshly crushed apple juice. Making cider vinegar is also a possibility, but you will need to provide your own cider mother.
The main task for the day will be crushing the apples. For this we will need juicers. We have some, but the more the better. Please let Wendy Pryor know if you can bring one along or lend one in advance. wendyp57@tpg.com.au.
We will add the yeast on the day, but then it needs to ferment for a couple of weeks. Chris will manage this part and the bottling, then you can pick up the cider when it is ready.
