Monthly gathering: Seed Saving - food for the future

7pm Monday 17th April

Lindfield Seniors Community Hall, 259 Pacific Hwy

Seeds are a wonder: all the knowledge and information that's needed to grow a full plant in a tiny little seed!

This month we'll be doing some seed saving with Margaret. She'll talk about choosing the best plants for saving seed, how to extract and prepare the seeds for storage, and then we'll actually go through the process of extracting some seeds from the fruits and vegetables that are brought along - both by Margaret and by you!

Members attending are encouraged to bring their seed collections along, as well as any excess seedlings that you have from your winter plant-outs. There will be time for a seed swap at the end of the night.

In addition, there will be the usual "trash and treasure" table, so bring your trash and be prepared to find some treasure! (Anything you bring, if not taken by the end of night, must go home with you.)

For this month's meeting, we won't be offering a zoom option, in part due to the hands-on nature of the meeting, in part because of the lack of technical people able to help out. If you are able to come in person, or are willing to take on the burden of health risk for this month, we encourage you to come.

If you have health concerns or are sick on the day, please show some respect and considerations for others and don't attend the gathering!
