Something a little bit different for our next Permabee. Join us in the beautiful Blue Mountains for October's permabee which is now being moved from the long weekend (when just about everyone was unable to come) to 21st and 22nd October.
We are visiting Shawn, who was our Garden Team Leader for several years, and Lisa, former PSN regulars, Shawn and Lisa moved up to Wentworth Falls where they have built their strawbale house and Permaculture/Cottage gardens. This is a great opportunity to cross examine them about the trials and tribulations while acheiving their dream, a dream many of us occasionally have, but few have taken up for one reason or another! Their gardens have evolved over time in an interesting way and now they would really appreciate some help to speed the evolution along. Jobs include;
Converting two 1000L IBC into 4 wicking beds Build a frame for an old bathtub, creating a new worm farm. Build garden beds from leftover colorbond. Pruning espalier fruit trees (planted during a previous permabee). Come for a day or two - or half a day! It's always lots of fun! Depending on how many are coming and for how long, we can work out car pooling and sleeping arrangements later.
Could you please text me (Stephanie) on 0412489263 to let me know which days and/or how many days you plan on coming so we can organise sleeping arrangements, catering and work. Thank you.
Shawn and Lisa are very happy for people to stay over, using a combination of spare beds and 2 inflatable queen camps beds, or if you prefer there is plenty of room for those keen to camp. There is also plenty of spare floor space if you want to camp inside with your own bedding.Of course there is salubrious accommodation in the area too. Lunchs will be provided . We will go out to a local eatery for dinner on Saturday night. It would be terrific if you bring along something to share in between the main meals
This is a free event for members only. The address will be provided on registration..
