Monthly gathering: How to create small bird habitat corridors and connections

7pm Monday 16th October, 2023

Lindfield Seniors Community Hall, 259 Pacific Hwy

This month we will hear from Bev Debrincat about how to use our gardens to create small bird habitats.

During the talk she will discuss the importance of connected habitat and two habitat corridors that are being worked on. Bev will talk how one of these corridors will be expanded into a network of habitat.

Something we all should learn is how to plant habitat havens and Bev will advise on that, suggesting species of native plants and how to create habitat patterns. From there we will learn how to plant small bird habitat in a garden.

Bev Debrincat has been running Habitat Network since 2003 and she has a background in bushland management. She is also Chair of Greater Sydney Landcare. Bev is one of 2 coordinators running The Habitat which is a community nursery and food garden in Ryde. Both the nursery and garden will be open on November 4th for Sydney Edible Garden Trail.

Bev will bring along some native and food plants to sell from The Habitat.

Doors open at 6.30pm – visit our library, check out our swap table. Please stay for supper.

Please register if you are attending in person so we can prepare the hall.
