April permabee at Sue's bush block garden
9.30am – 3.30pm, Sunday 21st April
Pennant Hills

Join us for this month's permabee at Sue's home. Sue has held various positions in PSN and is currently our Local Groups Co-ordinator.

Sue's garden is a gem and a great place to learn what can be done on a sloping block, with a lot of rocks, and shade from many tall trees.

With her garden backing onto bushland, Sue has to be constantly creative about how stop local wildlife eating all her produce! Sue has erected all sorts of barriers, with eventual success against larger birds and animals, but small ones remain a challenge.

At this permabee we'll be cladding the base of Sue's netted tunnel with chicken wire – a big job that will certainly be easier with many hands! Sue is an expert at applying patches to holes made in netting and she will be demonstrating how this is done.

Sue also needs help with some alterations to her irrigation system.

This is a free event. It will be interesting, and lots of fun! Everyone's welcome – come for an hour or come for the day.

Please wear appropriate clothing, including closed-in shoes, long trousers, and a hat, and bring your water bottle. After all this rain we can expect a few leaches to be around.

Lunch will be provided but please bring something to share for afternoon tea.

The address will be provided on registration.
