  • Willoughby

Registration

  • Includes workshop and two mushroom logs

Many choice edible mushroom species grow on dying trees or fallen logs and can be replicated for a low tech way of growing mushrooms at home. There are many species that also like to grow on troublesome weedy trees like camphor laurels and privets. In this workshop we will be inoculating a bunch of privet logs with a mix of oyster mushrooms.

In this workshop you will learn the basic concept of mushroom log cultivation that can be applied to a wide range of edible and medicinal fungi and their preferred tree species. There will also be plenty of hands-on learning as we will be inoculating 35+ small logs with enough for each participant to take 2 logs home with them.

Please bring:

  • Water bottle
  • Hat and sunscreen if sunny
  • Work clothes that you don't mind getting dirty
  • Enclosed shoes/boots
  • Gardening gloves
  • Something to share for afternoon tea

Address supplied on registration.
