Monthly gathering: David Sivyer on Urban Farming
7pm Monday 21st October, Lindfield Seniors Community Hall

David Sivyer is the Managing Director of Feedback Organic Recovery, a non-profit organization championing circular food systems and community engagement. With a strong background in sustainable practices and urban agriculture, David has led innovative projects that divert food waste from landfills and transform it into nutrient-rich compost. His work focuses on reconnecting urban communities with their food systems through immersive educational programs and partnerships with key stakeholders across Sydney.

David will discuss the evolution of Feedback Organic Recovery and its mission to create sustainable, community-inclusive food systems in urban environments. He will highlight the challenges and successes encountered while implementing closed-loop food system stations in corporate settings, emphasizing how these initiatives are helping to reduce food waste and promote sustainable practices at a grassroots level.

David will also explore the broader vision of connecting key urban stakeholders—from corporate partners to local communities—to build a resilient and sustainable food network in Sydney. He will share insights into the ongoing projects, including the micro circular food system pilot in Sydney’s corporate sector, and how these efforts align with the principles of permaculture, fostering a more sustainable and inclusive future for urban food systems.

For more on David’s work check out his site: feedback organic

Doors to the community centre open at 6.30pm. Come early to check out the library and find a treasure on the reuse & recycle table!

One of the local groups will provide supper, and tea and coffee will be served.

Guest are welcome and this is a free event, but please register so we know how many people to expect.
