Hornsby members get ready for a relaxing afternoon get-together for our Christmas gathering.

For those who are feeling adventurous, feel free to join us in making kokedama – a Japanese form of living plant art – or if you prefer, you can just watch them being made.

Please bring a plate of food to share for afternoon tea at 2pm.

To make the kokedama, please bring:

1. Tools – scissors & a bowl the size of the kokedama you want to make, rubber gloves

2. Wrapping materials e.g. bark, hessian, stockings, coir

3. Tying materials e.g. twine, string, dental floss or fishing line

4. Soil - potting mix and/or compost (at least 2 cups per kokedama)

5. Plants with small root systems – e.g. cactus, begonia, fern, pothos, ivy, oregano, orchid
