Monthly gathering: Native Bush Food with Narelle Happ
7pm Monday 19th May, Lindfield Seniors Centre

Indigenous people have used Australian plants as food and medicine for thousands of years, and they are a valuable part of permaculture gardens.

This month, horticulturist and permaculturist, Narelle Happ, will show us a range of edible native plants and discuss how to grow them in our gardens, and how to harvest and cook native bush food. She will bring samples for taste testing and will have a selection of native plants for sale.

Narelle Happ specialises in native gardens and permaculture design. She has over twenty years of experience and is passionate about creating ‘living’ spaces that are nurturing, productive and sustainable. Her designs have included natural bushland, rainforest, cottage or formal. She has designed permaculture gardens for private homes, as well as designs that engage and educate communities and schools by creating kitchen gardens and living classrooms. Narelle also runs a wide variety of workshops.

Doors open at 6.30pm. Come early to browse our library and find a treasure on our reuse & recycle table.

Stick around for a chat and a cuppa afterwards. Supper will be provided an served by Ku-ring-gai local group members.

Guest are welcome and this is a free event, but please register so we know how many people to expect.
