Time: 9am–1pm (both days)

Location
Saturday 25th: Youjia's place in Dundas Valley
Sunday 26th: Cat's place in Hornsby

This two‑day Permaculture Design Foundations for Food Growers course is an interactive, hands‑on introduction to sustainable design that empowers you to grow food in any space. Through practical activities and simple design tools, you’ll learn how to create productive gardens that work with nature’s cycles, reduce your ecological footprint, and reflect core permaculture principles.

Whether you’re tending a balcony, a suburban backyard, or a rural block, the course gives you a step‑by‑step pathway to designing your own resilient, low‑energy food‑growing system. You’ll leave with the confidence to start transforming your home environment into a thriving, regenerative space.

What you’ll learn:

  • Permaculture ethics and principles as a foundation for sustainable living
  • How to read a landscape – patterns, microclimates, water flow, and site potential
  • Design skills to map and plan your own food‑growing site
  • Growing systems for annuals, perennials, and small‑scale food forests
  • Integrating animals into productive, ethical systems
  • Building healthy soils through composting, mulching, and low‑disturbance methods
  •  Energy and nutrient cycling
