Workshop, October 19th
Provided by Gillian Kozicki, Permaculturalist and Passionate Fermenter, the October's living skills workshop will take an introductory look at fermenting as an extension to our permaculture food web and preserving the abundance. This two hour workshop will provide basic information on why we should ferment, a brief history of fermenting and the relevance of permaculture ethics and principles to fermenting.
We'll discuss the health benefits of specific ferments, where to get supplies and how to get started on a couple. There will be time to sample a wide range of ferments including: Sauerkrauts, cultured vegetables, milk kefir, water kefir, kombucha, beet kvass and coconut kefir (see the picture above!).
*** You can buy milk kefir and kombucha cultures ("scabies") on the day to get started! ***
