The following information is designed to help new and existing members learn more about Permaculture Sydney North and our web site. 


1.       Glossary of common terms and Abbreviations:

PSN                   Permaculture Sydney North. This has been broken into subgroups by council.

Pc                      Abbreviation for Permaculture (Note the lowercase “c”)

PS                      Permaculture Sydney - comprises of all the Sydney area groups (Permaculture North, South, and West)

Intro                 This is a reference to the Introduction course to Permaculture, based on Bill Mollison’s Introduction book, “Permaculture One”. The course can be completed all at once, or broken up into components (few days or equivalent).

PDC                   Permaculture Design Certificate. Also based on Bill Mollison’s book. Fifteen days or equivalent.

Permabee        A Garden Team working bee made up of PSN member who use Permaculture principles transform   people’s gardens. Great way to get your hands dirty and learn Permaculture first hand.

LETS                  Worldwide Local Exchange Trading Scheme




2.       Our Website Home Page


If you have already signed up and joined PSN online,  you will know our website is, which stands for Permaculture Sydney North Inc.  We were once just ‘Permaculture North’, which still has an active and different website address.




3.       New Members’ Booklet


Go to the Permaculture Sydney North home page and click on the “About page” in the top menu.  The Important Links list,  has a link to the New members booklet providing helpful information to new users. 




4.       DIY ‘Fact Sheets'


Go to the Permaculture Sydney North home page as shown above, and click on Fact Sheets in the top menu or use this link.


5.       Signing in to the website


To get the most out of the website though, you will need to sign in.


  • On the top right-hand side of the PSN website enter the email address you supplied upon joining. 
  • Enter your password if known.
  • If you forgot your password, click on “Forgot Password”.  You will be prompted to enter the email address that you used to join PSN and also be prompted for the six character code on screen. Once you click “Submit”, an email will be sent to you with a temporary password.
  • Go to your email and follow the instructions for your PSN password.
  • Done!

Once you have logged in you will be able to access greater content within the website. 

  • Subscribe to the Noticeboard – allows you to receive advice of any new postings direct to your email.
  • Post a notice on the Noticeboard, or reply to one.
  • Subscribe to the Members’ Forum and post messages (both questions and answers). You will receive emails for any replies that were posted.
  • Control the settings on your profile and update your contact details.
  • Register for PSN meetings and Events under “What’s on”.



6.       Regular Meeting Dates and Events

  • 2nd Sat – Local Group meeting. Usually, but not always from 2pm-4pm at various venues.
  • 3rd Sat – Living Skills (Breadmaking, Cheesemaking, Tool repairs and so forth).
  • 3rd Sun – Garden Team Permabees – Get your hands dirty here
  • 3rd Mon – PSN meeting held at Lindfield Senior Citizens Hall. Present at 7 for 7.30pm start.
  • 4th Sat – Bidgiwong Seed Saving. Try entering this search phrase on Google.
