    What you will learn
    Week 1 & 2
: During the first two weeks you’ll learn how to analyse a suburban property using a permaculture approach to identify and map not just the space but the various elements and influences that need to be considered. Each participant will finish these two workshops with a detailed map of your own property as a basis for your permaculture design.

Between the first and final sessions, you'll have opportunities to attend a range of PSN workshops on topics such as plants, soil, water, animals & structures. These will provide you with some of the key knowledge when planning what goes into your own design.

Week 3 & 4: In the final two weeks you’ll create permaculture design for your own suburban space and a plan for implementing the changes.

As the weather cools it's time to get in and do some pruning and tidying up.

For this minibee we will be helping Selina with:

    • trimming down fruit trees and perennial shrubs
    • dividing rhizomes
    • digging up some badly-placed fruit trees and moving them into pots.

This is a great opportunity to spend a few hours with like-minded people and to share and learn useful garden skills.

    Morning tea will be provided.

Participants are required to be fully vaccinated.

As spaces are limited, please let us know if you are unable to attend, so someone else can take your spot.

What to bring: Gloves, any pruning tools that could be handy like secateurs and wear sturdy closed-in shoes.

    In particular, please bring any:
    - secateurs
    - pruning saws (hand-operated or reciprocating)

If you have a wood chipper - electric or petrol, please contact Selina or Filipa as soon as possible! Thank you.

Ever wanted to know what uses the weeds have that grow in your own backyard?

Pat Collins will be giving one of her wonderful workshops on Weeds.  You will never look at these plants in the same way again. Pat has been teaching for over 23 years and has more than 20 year of practice as a herbalist.  She has written a number of books, including some on weeds and their uses. She runs the "Total Health and Education Centre" in Muswellbrook.

You will learn  to identify these plants, learn their medicinal, cosmetic, culinary uses and how they balance our soil then use them to make into a variety of items.

       Wild weed cream

       Chickweed or Purslane infused oil

       Paddys Lucerne syrup
