Blake Hight teaching kids about waste

Monthly gathering: Transitioning from overconsumption & waste to sustainable living, with Blake Hight
7pm Monday 17th February
Lindfield Seniors Centre, 259 Pacific Hwy

Blake Hight from Cleanaway's Centre for Sustainability will talk with us about the physical, mental, and environmental harm caused by modern consumption patterns and the waste management systems that support them. He will also lead us in a game and group discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of both small-scale and large-scale composting of organic waste.

Blake is an experienced educator specializing in waste and resource recovery. He teaches both adults and school students about the positive social, economic, and environmental impacts of transitioning to sustainable lifestyles. He holds a Master of Environment, with a focus on Education for Sustainability, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Positive Education, and a Bachelor's in Psychological Science.

Through various roles across schools, government, businesses, and social organizations, Blake has gained in-depth insights into the barriers to and solutions for changing waste-related behaviours. He is passionate about sustainability and believes that a transition to sustainable practices offers tremendous benefits for a healthier and happier society. Blake currently serves as the Senior Education Officer at Cleanaway's Centre for Sustainability in NSW.

Doors open at 6.30pm. Come early to browse our library and find a treasure on our reuse & recycle table!
